Lando Norris × Monster Energy
Monster Energy / Global launch campaign
01 / Intent
How can a still campaign carry Formula 1 velocity and gaming-world immersion without illustrating either literally?
- Commission
- Global launch of the Lando Norris drink for Monster Energy
- Role
- Photographer, creative direction and post-production
- Deployment
- Global retail, print, outdoor and digital
02 / Preparation
Build the image’s physics before the shoot.
The treatment reduced the brief to three forces: racing velocity, Lando’s gaming world and the drink’s neon-yellow identity. Bespoke motion studies and animated LED content established the chromatic and movement system before Lando entered the set.

03 / On set
Turn the background into a practical light source.
The moving assets ran across a large curved LED volume, turning the background into a practical source of colour and reflection. Camera movement, dragged exposures, zoom and in-camera light trails made speed physical in the frame.

04 / Result
Hold speed inside a still image.
The final system moved from extreme perspective and close portrait to full figure and product, holding one recognisable language across thousands of retail placements, print, outdoor and digital worldwide.

Field note
George Kroustallis creates portrait and people photography from London for international brands, publications and collaborators. Sculpted light, exact composition and unusual perspective give each subject a heightened physical presence while keeping character and brand identity intact.
Light, lens, set and post-production are shaped around the individual rather than imposed as a fixed treatment. The work can move from direct portraiture to extreme perspective, in-camera motion and mixed media, but the result always holds a clear relationship between subject, idea and commission.
