Film / Direction / Moving Image

Moving image grounded in photographic precision. Light, rhythm, material and controlled movement build tactile films and coherent stills-and-motion systems.

Movement extends the photographic idea rather than decorating it.

Lucid Motors × Hypebeast

Lucid Motors × Hypebeast / Commissioned film and photography

01 / Intent

How can an electric SUV be revealed through sensation before specification?

Commission
Lucid Gravity film and photography for Lucid Motors × Hypebeast
Role
Director and photographer, with edit and post-production
System
Parallel film and stills units, motion control, multi-plate post-production and original score

02 / Production

Choreograph the reveal, not just the camera.

Motion and stills ran in parallel on the same stage, each with its own crew and camera system. The motion-control unit choreographed repeatable passes around the car’s surfaces and light signatures; the stills unit moved independently through bodywork, cabin and detail.

Interior camera position / production
Cinema camera positioned inside the Lucid Gravity cabin to capture tactile interior details.
Motion-control stage / production
Lucid Gravity on a white cyclorama beside a robotic motion-control camera system and overhead diffusion.

03 / Photography

Build the stills plate by plate.

Each still was built through multiple lighting and material plates. Bodywork, glass, leather and illuminated details were captured separately, then composited into a single controlled image without losing the slow atmosphere established on set.

Studio BTS capture / on set
On-set frontal view of the Lucid Gravity beneath overhead diffusion, documenting the studio lighting environment.

04 / Result

Let technology arrive as material and atmosphere.

Editing, VFX and post-production extended the captured material into a tactile reveal, resolving film and photography as one coherent system across Lucid and Hypebeast. Original score by Alkis Livathinos.

Final still / commissioned series
Final frontal photograph of the Lucid Gravity by George Kroustallis, emerging from a deep blue-black studio gradient with its illuminated front light signature.

Field note

George Kroustallis directs films and combined stills-and-motion projects from London for international brands, publications and collaborators. His moving-image practice is grounded in photographic precision, using light, rhythm, material and controlled camera movement to turn products, people and spaces into tactile visual sequences.

Projects are built around a single visual logic, whether captured through performance, practical effects, motion control, CGI or post-production. Stills and film can be developed together as one coherent image system, with each medium carrying the same atmosphere, technical discipline and brand awareness.
