A commissioned editorial for Cactus Magazine Issue 21, created with Cactus and Dries Van Noten around the house’s refillable lipstick collection. Minorstep shaped the concept and image direction in collaboration with the team, then led photography and post-production. Extreme optical perspectives and radically low and overhead viewpoints distort familiar scale, turning compact cosmetics into monumental, almost architectural objects. Elsewhere, pigment, logo and letterform slip into near-abstract material studies, appearing to fold, pool and reform under extreme magnification. Sculpted light draws out embossed metal, patterned cases, saturated colour and viscous surface with exact control. Printed in Cactus, the series moves between graphic product clarity and tactile abstraction, preserving the house’s tension between pattern, finish and shade.
