I used to put all my passion into music, way before I was into images professionally.

Hate to break it to you, but photography doesn’t give you passion – neither does music.

You bring your passion to your craft. You bring your identity to the creative.

But photography or art direction doesn’t give it to you.

Photography might expose and reimagine what’s already there.

But it’s not gonna give you more of it. And if photography went away you’d still have it. Photography is the output you’re choosing.

Maybe instead of

“I’m passionate about photography”

It could develop into

“I’m passionate”

Passion is part of who I am, my identity. Photography is simply where lots of us go with it.

For the time being.
